Another scrub, but this time for the face. To be honest, I’ve never been particularly thrilled by facial scrubs. Of course, I know it’s important to help the skin get rid of the dead cells and stuff so I use them once a week. But even though they do clean the face and make it softer, I still had to find one that would really impress me. Until I bought the Skin79 Sweet Honey Sugar scrub.
Opening the classy silver box reveals a fairly large 100ml container, along with a music note-shaped spatula to scoop the scrub in a more hygienic way. Those who enjoy using their fingers (only do this with thoroughly cleaned hands !) will love dipping into the thick and soft brown paste.
I admit that the main reason I decided to try Skin79 Sweet Honey Sugar scrub was, well, the honey & sugar part. I’m a sucker for cosmetics with fragrances of fruits, vegetables and anything food-related and I’m proud of it 🙂 And Skin79‘s facial scrub didn’t disappoint me: even before taking off the plastic seal you can smell the heavenly sweet scent of syrupy brown sugar and warm honey ! The paste spreads very easily, feels comfortable on the skin and is rinsed off quickly.

The Naked Truth
Skin79 Sweet Honey Sugar scrub does a great job thoroughly cleansing the skin. I was amazed how softer my face was and how brighter my complexion looked the first time I used it ! There wasn’t any hint of irritation despite my sensitive skin but make sure to rub gently: the sugar grains are a bit coarse and could be harsh to your face if applied too forcefully. Skin79‘s scrub contains a lot of good natural ingredients like honey and sugar, macadamia oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, cocoa, rice, lavender, etc. Still, not all the ingredients can be called neutral and non-irritant since they also include chemicals, mineral oil and BHT (Butylated HydroxyToluene). I didn’t see much difference regarding blackheads but it does visibly shrink the pores and the effect last the day after too, which is a nice plus.
