Tony Moly Ice Queen Green Tea Pack Flashback Review

Published June 10, 2014 by Beauty-full Dreams

A little late, but welcome to my Tony Moly Ice Queen Green Tea Pack flashback review !

This is the first part of a whole series of reviews dedicated to (unfortunately) discontinued cosmetics. Why talking about products that aren’t sold anymore, you wonder ? First of all, because I thought that those of you who recently discovered the wonderful world of Korean beauty might be interested in knowing what existed before. But also because some of these items can still be snatched for the very last time online and, for the ones that totally disappeared, because I’ll tell you which products replaced them and/or what cosmetics from other brands you can use instead 😉

When I started to order Korean products, 3 years ago, one of Tony Moly‘s bestsellers was the Ice Queen line. This summer-only series included 4 items :

Tony Moly Ice Queen Multi Play Cream, a 3-in-1 face cream (moisturizer + sunscreen + makeup base)

ice1

Tony Moly Ice Queen Snow White Sleeping Cream, a moisturizing & brightening sleeping pack made with aloe, green tea, lavender and lemon balm extracts

ice2

Tony Moly Ice Queen Tropical Pack, a clearing, whitening and calming wash-off pack based on a fruit complex (mango, grapefruit, guava, litchi)

ice3

and Tony Moly Ice Queen Green Tea Pack, a soothing & moisturizing wash-off pack including green tea, aloe, cucumber and watermelon extracts

ice4

As you can see, all of them came in colorful ice cream-like packagings, which played a big part in their success ^^

Back then, I opted for the Green Tea Pack (I also wanted to try the Tropical Pack but it was always sold out) :

The yummy ice cream design wasn’t the only reason why I wanted this pack so badly, I was also drawn to its weird jelly texture…

IM000111.JPG

… and Martian-like special effects. Just kidding, I took this pic under artificial light for once to better show the texture 😉

IM000112.JPG

As you can see, it’s not just regular jelly, it’s a thick, granulated, springy jelly. It’s a bit strange but if you like dipping your fingers into cosmetics jars (with thoroughly clean hands, please !) and feel the textures, you’ll love this one !

tmicequeen1

tmicequeen2(it’s my 1rst time ever making an animated gif & definitely not the last 😉 )

Tony Moly Ice Queen Green Tea Pack was one of these products you should store in your fridge before use to enhance their effects. But even if you didn’t, you could feel the coolness of the Green Tea Pack as soon as it touched your skin ^^ The thick granulated texture made it a bit messy to rinse and I didn’t witnessed the pore-tightening result advertised then but it was a great mask to cool down and moisturize your face during the summer 😀 And it had a wonderful fresh smell (with a hint of alcohol) of aloe, cucumber and watermelon ^^

And now, the important part 😉

Tony Moly Ice Queen Green Tea Pack is…

Available for the last time at ? Not available anywhere *crying*

Replaced by ? Unfortunately, Tony Moly has never produced a replacement for this mask 😦

Similar to ? Finally some good news ! Even though Tony Moly Ice Queen Green Tea Pack has totally disappeared, here are 3 other options for you :

– Lioele Vita Shake Pack

IM000595.JPG

This wash-off pack as the same texture & cool effect than the Green Tea Pack but it won’t calm your skin from the summer heat.

IM000647.JPG

Note that mine was the Blueberry one but now only the Vita Shake Pack Fruits (which includes all the different varieties : Kiwi, Papaya, Cranberry, Apple Mango, Lemon & Blueberry) is sold.

– The SAEM Eco Farm Cucumber Moisture Mask

thesaemeco1

thesaemeco2

The SAEM Eco Farm Cucumber Moisture Mask has more of a clear paste than a real jelly texture. Yet it’s a great cooling and moisturizing pack with a deliciously fresh cucumber scent 😀 Gives a stronger, “icy” feel if you put it in the fridge before using ^^

– Innisfree jeju Sudachi Soothing Mask

innissudachi

I still haven’t tried this one (despite being on my wishlist for ages… but soon !), but it’s one of Innisfree‘s big hits and all the fellow beauty-addicts who tried it love its citrus smell, jelly texture and cooling & soothing effect.

Well, that’s it for today ! I hope you enjoyed your little trip back in time 😉 Please let me know what you think of this flashback series in the comment section ^^

Gmarket X-mas Order…

Published January 13, 2014 by Beauty-full Dreams

Many Korean brands were having sales on Gmarket in December so I made one last order for 2013, what was supposed to be my Christmas order. So, why  am I only showing it now, you wonder ? That’s the “was supposed to be” part : initially, I also bought 3 items from The Saem official store but they never sent them to Gmarket and I had to cancel them to finally get my parcel… last week !

Even though I didn’t get it on time, I’m pretty happy with my order :

Gmarket Shipping Cost Mystery Revealed

Published December 20, 2013 by Beauty-full Dreams

And now what you’ve all been waiting for : a post about ordering from Gmarket

Actually, placing an order on Gmarket is pretty easy once you understand their peculiar shipping cost system.

Let’s see how it goes :

Each item sold on Gmarket has an estimated weight determined by the seller him/herself, regardless of its actual weight. You can see it on the product page :

hhcaviar

The estimated weight hardly ever match the real weight of the item. Supposedly, the difference between the two corresponds to the packaging of the product. Well, after 2 and a half years of ordering from Gmarket, I can tell you that it’s rarely the case.

So expect your Korean cosmetics to have an estimated weight of 0.2 kg on average, even those that only weigh less than 5 g in real life…

bveye

Baviphat eye stick : estimated weight = 0.6 kg, real weight = 9 g, doesn’t come in any kind of packaging…

Why is this shipping cost talk so important, you wonder ? Because when you place an order on Gmarket, you’re paying the shipping cost upfront, before knowing the real final weight of your parcel. For each item put in your shopping cart, the system gives you the total amount of your order, including the shipping cost based on the sum of all estimated weights and your location. And trust me EMS (the only shipping option available) costs go up pretty fast.

shoppingcart

Estimated shipping cost at the bottom of the shopping cart

So, is it as unfair as it sounds ? Well, not really. Once Gmarket receive all the items of your order from the sellers, they pack everything in a single parcel and weigh it. If the actual weight is inferior to the estimated weight, they’ll credit the difference in shipping cost to your Gaccount. And if the actual weight is superior to the estimated weight, you’ll have to pay the difference before they send you your order.

shippingcost

Here the estimated weight was higher than the actual weight so 9,000 won were credited back

The good thing is that the money you pay for over-estimated weights isn’t lost, you get it back on your Gaccount. The bad thing is 1/ you have to pay a larger sum of money than necessary when you are placing the order, and 2/ the money isn’t credited on your bank account/paypal account, it’s credited on your Gaccount. You don’t actually get the money back, you can only use it for a future order.

So, my advice would be : always carefully check both the estimated weight & actual weight of what you want to buy and if there’s a big difference, ask yourself if you can afford to pay the extra money upfront.

Hope this helps ^^

Gmarket December Order, The SAEM & G-Dragon ^^

Published December 16, 2013 by Beauty-full Dreams

Both Etude House and The SAEM had sales going on at the time I ordered so I got myself a few nice makeup & beauty items :

IT’S SKIN :

I ran out of my beloved Pure Moisture Cream so I added it to the order. I got the Prestige Crème d’Escargot BB as a gift and a few samples (Mangowhite Cleansing Cream, Power 10 Formula YE Effector and Power 10 Formula Propolis) ^^ I gave the Mangowhite sample to my mum and she loved it ! It left her sensitive skin bright & soft and it has a very nice smell too 🙂

ETUDE HOUSE :

gm12-3.jpg

I’m not sure if I’ve ever made a Gmarket order without any Etude House product…  This time I chose the Happy Teatime Green Tea Cleansing Tissue, Mini JamJam Hand Lotion Strawberry, Hello Lotion Lemon & Lime Body Lotion, Help My Finger Essence Spa and Nail Paraffin Pack, Oh! M’Eye Lash Curling mascara, Proof 10 Liquid Liner BK801 and 2 more Bling In The Sea Proof 10 Color Eye Stick (BL604 Deep Ocean Blue & BR402 Sunset Brown). Oh, and a bottle of Look At My Nails polish #BK801 :

LIOELE :

gm12-6.jpg

Although there weren’tsales on all Lioele products, the brand had some pretty sweet deals on a few items 🙂 The Color Eye Shadows in Satin Grape (#18) and Lemonade (#34) cost me less than $2 each !! And the Bubi Bubi Mascaras were sold in a bundle for about $7 if I remember well. Mine are Clear and Dancing Blue. I also bought 2 Essential Red Ginseng Mask Sheets and received 2 free samples with my order : Blooming Shimmer Pearl Base & Fresh Sun Screen.

THE SAEM :

gm12-12.jpg

It was my first time ordering The SAEM products and I’m so glad I did it ! I took advantage of their 30% off sales to get these lovely items : Natural Gold Kiwi Mask Sheet, Gem Miracle Black Pearl Gel Mask Sheet, GD Eco-Energy Gel Mask Sheet Moist & Bright (with Big Bang‘s G-Dragon‘s face & signature on it ^^ I love Big Bang ), Eco Farm Cucumber Moisture Mask, Dessert Jelly Pack in Apple, Strawberry & Apricot and Amazon Acaiberry Moist Cream (which has a wonderful smell 🙂 ) The SAEM is pretty generous with gifts as I received 3 Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 Bubble Mask samples, 2 tiny bottles of Urban Eco Harakeke Emulsion + 2 of Urban Eco Harakeke Toner and a 26-pages mini booklet filled with gorgeous promotional pictures of G-Dragon !!! I’m already in love with this brand (or G-D, I’m not sure anymore 😉 ) !! My mum immediately tried the Bubble Mask sample and the Harakeke Emulsion and both had spectacular results ! I can’t wait to buy the full products !

Hey, where are going ?! This post isn’t over yet, my order also included two more beauties ^^

My 2013 Korean Cosmetics Wish List – Lioele & Holika Holika

Published January 13, 2013 by Beauty-full Dreams

Part 4, already ! This wish list is getting a bit long, isn’t it ? But, hey, it’s for the whole year so it’s ok 😉

I already reviewed the Lovely Twoway  on this blog, now it’s time to try other shades 🙂

Seaweed 90 Trouble Care Mist

l2

Powdery Sun Chiffon SPF 50

This Powdery Sun Chiffon is probably the most original sun care ever. It has a whipped cream texture that turns into a powder once applied. And it can also be used as a primer ^^

L’Cret Miracle Magic Lipstick SPF14 (Diamond Version)

l5

Lipsticks that showed a totally different color on your lips were all the rage when I was a teenager so I definitely can’t miss these babies !

HOLIKA HOLIKA

Snow White Cream

Holika Holika Snow White Foam Cleanser  does such a great job,  I can’t wait to try the cream of the same line !

Black Caviar Wrinkle Recovery Eye Cream

hh2

A future gift for my mum but shhh…

Soda Pore Cleansing – Cleansing Soda Water

hh3

I like the concept of this cleansing water : it comes with a tablet that you put inside the bottle, leave it (opened) to melt for about 18 minutes and there you have your soda water !

Holi Holi Magic Drop – Make Me Sweet

hh4

I don’t know if the scents are really as good as I heard but the mere bottle is gorgeous enough to buy these ^-^ By the way the 3 fragrances are : Make Me Sweet (fruity), Make Me Lovely (floral) and Make Me Pure (powdery).

My Wish Perfumed Mist – Fresh Ocean

hh5

When it comes to perfumes, I also enjoy the aquatic types (think Davidoff “Cool Water”) very much so a mist made of Alaska ice water, coral water and peppermint extract with an ocean scent is obviously on my list 🙂 FYI, the other 2 are White Floral and Grapefruit.

[XMAS -3] Etude House, Lioele, Peripera Lip Gloss Swatches

Published December 22, 2012 by Beauty-full Dreams

Unlike nail polish, my addiction for lip gloss has never gone down since I was a teenager 🙂  Each time I see all these gorgeous shades of pink, purple and red sparkling in their cute little tubes, I always feel the urge to buy them ^^ But don’t worry, I’m not a compulsive shopper and I always buy what I can afford, and at bargain price as much as possible 😉 That’s why I only own a handful of Korean lip glosses right now :

glosses.jpg

Sure, there are just a few but look at these beautiful colors !

I bought the Etude House and Peripera glosses from Gmarket and the Lioele Blooming Gloss comes from Pretty&Cute, so if you like these colors or want to see the other shades of each gloss, go check them out !

My 3rd Order From Pretty&Cute

Published November 27, 2012 by Beauty-full Dreams

As the saying goes, “Everything comes in threes”, so here are the items I bought in my 3rd order (still last year) from Pretty&Cute :

– Lioele Vita Shake Pack (Blueberry)

– Lioele Minus Inch Body (Cool Gel)

– Lioele Carry Me Hand (Blueberry)

– Lioele Skin Fix Makeup Base

– Lioele Bubi Bubi Tint Balm (Tropical Raspberry)

– Lioele Carry Me Mascara

– Lioele Bubi Bubi Mascara (Dancing Blue)

– Skin79 Rose Moisture Mask

– Skin79 Essence Moist Balm

– Epi Magic Facial Hair Remover

Pretty nice, right ? 🙂 Actually, I had a small problem with this order : I was wondering why it took so long to be shipped so I sent an inquiry to Pretty&Cute. It turned out that the shipping was delayed because another item I ordered was sold out and they didn’t manage to contact me about it. But after my inquiry, Pretty&Cute‘s customer service took good care of my problem and I finally got my order. And when I opened my parcel, I found the cute bow fringe holder you see on the photo added to my items ^^ So if you have any issue with your order, just get in touch with their customer service, they are really nice and helpful !
