Celebrate Halloween With The Spookiest Korean Cosmetics !

Published October 31, 2015 by Beauty-full Dreams

Korean cosmetics are well-known for their cute & innovative concepts. Good news for the fright lovers out there : Korean brands are just as creative when it comes to give you chills with scary packagings and horror-themed items 😉

So grab your broom and your favorite black cat and follow me through the Dark Side of Korean beauty !

“Welcome To My Nightmare”

Skulls, coffins, giant spiders, weird bats, pentacles, black magic, witchcraft… you name it, Kcosme deliver 😀 Today’s main provider is Baviphat‘s sister brand Urban Dollkiss with its Tattoo Days & Black Devil lines :

Let’s not forget Etude House’s Halloween Collection, Witch And The City, which you can admire in all its glory in my previous post 😉

“Dead Rising”

Fans of zombie movies rejoice : you too can look like your favorite undead characters, thanks to Tony Moly and Tosowoong 😀

By the way, those who’ve been following me for a while might remember that Skin1004 Zombie Pack was the first of this kind 😉

“If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)”

Like I mentioned last January in my A Year In Kbeauty : The 5 Weirdest Concepts Of 2014 post, Holika Holika purposely designed this Pro-Beauty Bloody Oil Tint to give you vampire lips ^^

Ever dreamt of recreating the shower scene of “Psychose” in your own bathroom ? Want to scare the Hell out of your roommate ? Well, Tony Moly made your wish come true ! This twisted shower gel packed as a blood pouch won’t go unnoticed and the scented gel will leave red prints on whatever you touch. Perfect for wannabe horror movie directors on a budget 😉

“Vampire, Vous Avez Dit Vampire ?”

LadyKin gives you the key to eternal youth : turn into a vampire (or should I say Vanpir ?) and absorb Dragon’s Blood ^^

Don’t worry, despite the gorgeous illustration above, Dragon’s Blood is the name of a thick red resin from a tree called croton lechleri, known for its great healing properties 😀 And it’s your skin that’s going to absorb it 😉

How could I talk about vampires without mentioning their infamous kiss ? Thank Too Cool For School for its Vampire Kiss lipstick, your best ally for drop-dead gorgeous lips no man will ever resist 😉

Last but not least, enjoy some creative Halloween looks from famous makeup artist Chosungah‘s 16brand :

Disclaimer : No dragon, vampire, witch, bat or other spooky creature of any kind has been hurt during the writing of this post 😀

Comments are welcome, I don’t bite… well, most of the time v–v

See you next time for the very first Winter Holiday/Christmas Collections !

The Beauty Blogger Award ^-^

Published June 30, 2015 by Beauty-full Dreams

I was nominated for the Beauty Blogger Award by the lovely Laura from Fun Lovin’ Travelers ^-^ Thank you so much, dear ! Don’t forget to check her blog and follow her and her husband’s great travel adventures 😀

So, here are the rules :

1.State the name of the person who nominated you.

2.Answer the questions asked by the person that nominated you.

3.List 10 random facts about yourself.

4.Nominate 15 bloggers whose blogs are about fashion or beauty.

5.The people who you nominate have to have under 200 followers.

6.Let the bloggers know you nominated them.

Time to answer Laura’s questions :

1. What is your favorite makeup brand?

Judging by the number of products I have from them, I guess it’s Etude House 😉 Their makeup is fun, creative, very affordable & their lipwear and eyeshadows have such a large range of different shades ❤ Holika Holika and Tony Moly are a close second though 😀

2. Is there a product that you can not live without?

My lipbalm ! My lips get dry so easily it’s not even funny 😦 By the way, it’s Weleda Everon Lip Balm, one of my few non-Korean beauty items 😉 I love it because it’s doing a great job without being sticky and it’s an all-natural product 🙂

3. Do you prefer to use inexpensive or more expansive products?

Inexpensive products, hands down ^^ I love trying new stuff and getting my lipstick/lipgloss/eyeshadow/nail polish in many different colors, so the less they cost, the more I can buy 😀 Still, I pay great attention to quality, my cosmetics have to be good and cheap, yeah I’m picky like that 😉

4. Do you like to use products from other countries than the one you reside in?

Yes !! I guess everyone knows my addiction to Korean products but I also tried English, US, Spanish, Italian and Japanese cosmetics 😀 And I’m willing to try beauty products from more countries, if I get the chance !

5. What is the most $$ you’ve ever spent on a product?

I don’t remember exactly (it was a long time ago), but I think it was about $40-$45 ? A wonderful translucent powder with subtle shimmers from Pier Augé that was only sold in a few parfumeries (perfume shops)… Brings back memories 😉

6. Have you ever used a product that was just terrible? If so which one?

Weleda Birch Body Scrub ! I was looking forward to using it and when I finally did, it smelled awful and left my skin reddish and itchy 😦 Luckily, I haven’t had any really bad encounter with Korean products (keep fingers crossed 😉 ) but I had a couple of allergy issues with an aloe sheet mask from Etude House and Tony Moly Banana Hand Milk . My mum tried them too and she was absolutely fine, so it can’t be the products.

7. Do you have a face cleansing routine? Is so what is it?

Let’s be honest, I’m not into the famous “10-step Korean routine”. I don’t doubt it brings good results but it’s just not for me : it takes too much time and piling up that many products won’t make my skin very happy. Trust me, I know my skin and when it comes to taking care of it, I better keep it simple 😉

Yet, I do have some sort of cleansing routine 🙂 I start by damping my skin with lukewarm water then lather my cleansing foam in my hands, spread it evenly, massage slightly and rinse. I pat my face with a towel, spray mineral water and pat again. Lastly, I apply my skincare, usually a moisturizer. If I have makeup on, I use a point remover for eye & lip make and a cleansing cream before the cleansing foam. Once a week, I use a gentle facial scrub and apply a wash-off pack or a sheet mask after cleansing my face.

8. Do you prefer to purchase your products in store or online? Why?

I like both ^^ Since I can’t buy Korean cosmetics where I live, I have to get them online. The cool part is that I can take my time, think about it, add & remove items in my shopping cart as I wish, until I’m satisfied with my order (and the amount 😉 ) On the other hand, bring me to a beauty shop and I’ll feel like a kid in a candy store ! So many colorful, shiny makeup all around me 😀

And now beware of the 10 random facts about me :

1/ I love surf and surf culture but I’ve never surfed myself. Well, I can’t swim so it would be a pretty bad idea to try 😉

2/ I’m a gamer 😀 When I was younger, I used to write reviews for videogame websites.

3/ Korea isn’t my only love, I love Japan just as much ❤

4/ I have a passion for cooking ! Although I cook a bit of everything, pastries are my specialty 😉

5/ I’m addicted to colors and glitters ❤ Make ’em pop & I’m happy ^-^

6/ My mum loves Korean cosmetics just as much as I do 😀 There are always 3 types of products in my orders : hers, mine and the one we share 🙂

7/ I have a strange addiction to mint, be it the smell or the taste 😉

8/ People who know me in real life find it hard to believe but I’m actually a bit shy. That’s why I don’t interact with you all as much as I should/would like, especially commenting on my fellow bloggers’ posts ^_^;

9/ My town is too hot in Summer and too cold in Winter, problem is I can’t stand extreme temperatures ;p

10/ I love art and, for me, makeup & fashion are just another forms of art. They’re a great way to let your creativity and personality shine through 😀

Gmarket Haul : Etude House, Tony Moly, Holika Holika & The SAEM <3

Published March 21, 2015 by Beauty-full Dreams

Hello, my Beauties ! I know I still owe you a post on Laneige’s new Two Tone Lip Bar but I’ve just received my parcel from Gmarket and I can’t resist showing you my latest purchases ❤

(as usual, click to see the big picture 😉 )

I haven’t bought Korean novelties for quite a while so I’m super excited to try these ones 😀

The SAEM items were on sale so I ordered a new Urban Eco Harakeke Cream Ex for my mum, she really loves this cream 🙂

Since I had to restock my Holika Holika Petit BB Moisture, I also added the Clearing version (it’s supposed to keep your face sebum-free) and the Jewel-light Waterproof Eyeliner in #08 Pink Topaz

These are the new packagings of Holika Holika Petit BB, the old one looked like this :

I’ve had my eyes on the Pink Topaz eyeliner for a long while but each time I ordered, it was already sold-out. Now I got it at last !

Tony Moly had Spring sales so I bought the Magic Food Banana Hand Milk and, from Tony Moly’s brand new 2015 Spring/Summer Makeup Collection, a Kiss Lover Style Lipstick (SG02 – Pink Light) and 3 Delight Dalcom Glosses (Pineapple, Tangerine & Grape) 😀

I also got the Perfect Lip& Eye Remover as a gift ^^

Tony Moly Magic Food Banana Hand Milk truly looks like a real banana 😀 And it has the wonderful smell of a ripe banana too !

The top is made of hard plastic but the body is made of rubber so it feels close to holding an actual banana too 🙂

And now, swatches time !

Tony Moly Kiss Lover Style Lipstick SG02 is a beautiful strawberry pink with a nice glossy finish 😀

My new “Delight” 😉

Tony Moly Delight Dalcom Glosses are very comfortable to wear on your lips, they have beautiful, barely pigmented colors, nice matching fruit scents, they’re absolutely not sticky and they have an amazing mirror shine ❤

On the last 2 pics, you can also see Holika Holika Jewel-light Waterproof Eyeliner – Pink Topaz 😉

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for : Etude House Color In Liquid Lips ! And Etude House gave me a Play Nail polish and Face Blur sample with it 😀

After much hesitation, I picked the OR201 shade, Juicy In Juice. Originally, I wanted to buy the PP501 (Purple In Candy) one but I was afraid it would turn out too flashy.

Ready for the swatches ? ;p

As close as I tried to get to its true color, it’s actually slightly more pinkish in real life.

Etude House Color In Liquid Lips OR201 Juicy In Juice in all its glory : a gorgeous peach-coral shade, loud, opaque, pigmented and almost neon, I absolutely love it ❤ And it feels amazing on your lips, as if you’re wearing nothing yet it keeps them moisturized ^-^

(for those who don’t know yet, all my pics are taken without flash, indoor and under natural light 😉 )

Last but not least, Etude House Play Nails #6 Innocent Strawberry Syrup :

It’s a pretty sheer nail polish so it took 3 layers to get this result. I’m glad I got to try it, this shade is beautiful, it’s very easy to apply and it has a super glossy finish !

As you can guess, I’m so happy with this order !! Once again Etude House color charts & pics were totally off, the Color In Liquid Lips shades are so much more beautiful in real life ❤ Now that I know, I’ll probably buy more of them later ^^ Also, I have a major crush on Tony Moly’s 2015 Spring Summer lipsticks & glosses, so maybe more of them too in my next order 😉 And some Etude House Play Nails would be nice too 😀

Reviews coming soon !

Chu From The Zoo : Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Lips 3-Step Kit !

Published February 5, 2015 by Beauty-full Dreams

After turning our skins into a pig nose, Holika Holika is now trying to give us monkey lips ! Yes, you read it right and no, I don’t drink & I don’t do drugs (but someone at Holika Holika visibly does…) 😀

Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Lips 3-Step Kit is a special treatment for dry lips that’s meant to give you moist, firm & sexy lips in 3 easy steps

Just like the Pig Clear Black Head 3-Step Kit, each sheet is actually made of 3 sachets, one for each step. Here we have the Lip Peeling Patch, a peeling cotton sheet, the Volume Lip Pack, an hydrogel mask and the Honey Lip Essence, a non-sticky moisturizing lip care.

So how do we use this ?

Step 1 : After washing your face, take the Lip Peeling Patch out and gently rub on your lips. Then gently wipe your lips with a tissue or rinse with water.

Step 2: Take the Volume Lip Pack out and place it on your lips. Wait for about 15 mn before removing the patch. Gently pat your lips and around your mouth with your fingers so that the remaining essence can be absorbed.

Step 3: Spread the Honey Lip Essence evenly on your lips. Apply generously to make the dry areas feel better.

But why the monkey thing, I hear you wonder ? Well, Golden Monkeys from the Yunnan province are known for their natural big pink lips 😀

Next time, feel the punch of pastel with eSpoir new Spring Collection !

Published January 4, 2015 by Beauty-full Dreams

Some concepts are so innovating that they come out as plain weird ;p Which doesn’t mean that these products are bad or anything, they’re probably quite good actually and, if I have the chance, I’ll be happy to try them 🙂 I just find them and/or the way they are marketed pretty funny ^^

So, here are the most bizarre items released in 2014 :

Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack

A lip pack that acts like a lip tint !

Apply a thick and even layer of Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack on your lips, wait for 5 to 10 minutes then peel off the dried pack. Et voilà, your lips are tinted for the next 12 hours ! (Be careful though to keep your lips slightly open when you apply the pack & when you wait for it to dry 😉 )

Available in 8 colors : Bubble Pink, Lovely Peach, Sexy Red, Pure Pink, Candy Orange, Chic Purple and the brand new Virgin Red & Vivid Scarlet

EZN Shaking Pudding Hair Color

Hair colors have already been sold in liquid, gel, cream, oil, spray, powder, foam and God-knows-what forms so why not a pudding texture. The problem is the big fat pudding on the packaging and in the CF creates a not that great mental image of applying something thick, gelatinous and sticky on your hair… That aside, from what I heard EZN Shaking Pudding Hair Color is a great hair color with vivid shades (if you can stand its very strong smell).

Haru Lady Up Vibration Facial Cleansing Brush

3 vibrating brushes to help you to thoroughly cleanse your face and pores may be efficient,

too bad this cleansing tool looks like an alien or an alien hand ;p

Holika Holika Pro-Beauty Bloody Oil Tint

Holika Holika kinda comes back to its roots with this item, back in the good old days when “magical” was the keyword, products sold in potion bottles and jars and the guys from CNBlue posed dressed as vampires/sorcerers holding a black cat ❤ Ah, nostalgia… (I’ll never get over the fact they gave up the magic for a generic cutesy look)

Anyway, this Pro-Beauty Bloody Oil Tint is a tint-in-oil product, like It’s Skin Babyface Oil Drop. The oil part is here to moisturize your lips and gives a shiny finish while the tint obviously colors your lips. Just shake the tube to mix them together and apply 🙂 So, where’s the catch ? Well, Holika Holika didn’t create it like any ordinary lipwear, it’s specifically designed to give you vampire lips, hence the “bloody” part of the name ! How about that ? 😀

Skin1004 Zombie Pack

If you’re a horror movie fan, you know that zombies have been all the rage for the past couple of years. Here’s your chance to (temporary, thank God) become one while using this mask !

This lifting, whitening, pore-tightening mask cracks while drying, creating strange zombie-like lines on your face 😀

See it in action here :

coming soon : brace yourself for the very 1rst trend of 2015 !

12 Days Of K-XMAS : Shuffle It All – My Own Glittery Favorites

Published December 21, 2014 by Beauty-full Dreams

On the 5th Day of Christmas, I decided to share with you some all-time Korean gems from my own vault ❤

Pretty pearlish and glittery polishes : Modi Glam Nails S02 “Soul Touch”, Scandal B5851 “Pistachio”, Castledew Color Shot Nail 9799 “Emerald Fairy”, Konad R59 “Sky Blue”, Missha Lucid Nail Polish “GPP02”, Konad R10 “Light Gold” and Scandal S060 “Mocha Sparkle”.

And because beauty knows no season and some spring & summer items can turn into great allies for a Christmas/New Year look, let me show you how to make the best ot the following cosmetics :

Peripera Sweet Meringue was last year’s spring collection but the solid white “glitters” inside make perfect snowflakes 😉 The 4 colors are : Soda Meringue, Lemon Meringue, Strawberry Meringue and Mint Meringue.

Holika Holika Jewel-light Waterproof Eyeliner One Carat Diamond and 18k Gold are both tear liners but used as regular eyeliners, they’ll make your eyes sparkle like no other ! On the other hand, the pigmented lamé finish of summery Etude House Proof 10 Liquid Liner Blue Coolpix and Turkey Green will add depth to your party makeup 🙂

As you already know, last year’s summer hits from Etude House, Bling In The SeaProof 10 Color Eye Stick Sand Gold, Ocean Wave Blue and Proof 10 Bling Eye Stick Sea Ripples, make terrific shimmery eyeshadows. But have you thought about using the Sand Gold one as a tear liner, or, much more daring, leave a trail of the Sea Ripples green glitters under your eyebrow or at the outer corner of your eyes ?

And how about a light swipe (use a big powder brush) of Etude House Sweet Recipe Chocolate Highlighter, if you have fair skin, or The SAEM Allys Ajell Jelly Cushion Shadow #4 “Cushion Beige” (for darker skins) all over the face instead of your usual powder for a subtle extra glow ?

Tony Moly Body Glow Lotion – Too Sexy comes from this year’s summer collection but this bronzer will give a sexy touch to your arms, legs and cleavage ! Just use it sparsely and blend it well into your skin 😉

Etude House V-line Slim Maker #1 Wood Brown & Sun Gold is meant for contouring but, just like the Sweet Recipe Chocolate Highlighter, it makes a nice shimmery powder. Mine is the Aloha one but it has just been renewed into a holiday special edition 😉

More than making your favorite eyeshadows last longer, Etude House Look At My Eyes Pearl Shadow Base can also turn into a nice cream highlighter if applied under your eyes, in the middle of your forehead, on the bridge of your nose, on your cheekbones and in the middle of your chin 😀

And if Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lip-talk  “A Slice Of Tangy Lemon” is too discreet for a Christmas & New Year look, don’t forget that its pink glitters and glossy tranparent finish will boost any of your regular lipstick ^^

So, I hope you enjoyed this post and found my advice somehow interesting !

Next time, let’s get Frozen once again with Peripera !
